A few people must know that I’m a huge anime/manga fan. But I wasn’t really into Japanese music until a few days ago, when a friend told me she would download any song I told her, if I downloaded a few songs from this j-rock group.
Now I’m hooked up.
Even though I can’t understand a word, most of the songs seem familiar, especially since most of them were used in anime’s openings and endings.
A group I strongly recommend is High and Mighty Color (ハイ・アンド・マイティ・カラー Hai ando Maiti Karā)
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR is made up of six members; Maakii (lead vocals), Yusuke (vocals), Kazuto (guitar), MEG (guitar), mACKAz (bass), and SASSY (drums) are its members. HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR is often referred to as the “sister-band” of popular Japanese band Orange Range. This is attributed to the fact that both come from the Okinawa area of Japan and both bands were discovered in the same music festival. The band started with the members Meg and Sassy working on a cover of a Metallica song, in time they were joined by Yusuke, Kazuto and mACKAz. At this time the band was known as Anti-Nobunaga.

One of HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR’s most famous song is “Ichirin no Hana”, an opening for anime series Bleach. Have you heard it?

I’m not really fond of listening to japanese music, but maybe it’s time for me to try out new things…

Don´t really like it, in fact. A few months ago I was thinking of hearing one of those J-Pop songs, but if it is difficult for me to find music that I like in the culture where I live, i can´t imagine to find music I like of a culture I don´t almost nothing.
Nevertheless, I don’t think they are so bad, I prefer this than Cumbia, for example :P.

Probably, in my past life I was an American 2nd WW warrior… o.o because I strongly hate anime, manga, j-pop and j-rock. Only Pokémon and Sailor Moon have touched my anti-japanese heart. xD
It’s funny to see how they cannot pronounce the “L”. xD In fact, the famous Death Note’s Kira is a ‘japanisation’ of Killer, and if we continue searching, we will find many alike stuff.
Good bye! (:

^ Yes! Also in Death Note, “L”, the detective, is pronounced as “eru”

Heard it? It’s on my iPod. Lol. I only listen to it when it comes up on shuffle on my iPod though. I have other Japanese favorites now.

Wow. They must be really good. Next time I’m on iTunes, I’ll be sure to check them out!

I’ve only heard the one you told me, I liked it, but not too much, maybe because I can’t understand anything.
Anyway, I’m not an anime/manga fan so I don’t like this type of songs.
